Dr. Yalinu has announced that today marks their final day at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) as a Lecturer in Environmental Science. Over the years, Dr. Yalinu has made substantial contributions to various MSc programs including Sustainable Technology, Waste Management, Project Management, and Quality Management within the School of Computing, Engineering, and Physical Sciences.

Dr. Yalinu praised UWS as a premier institution in the United Kingdom, commending its exceptional care for both staff and students. During their tenure, Dr. Yalinu embraced numerous roles and responsibilities, showcasing their dedication to academic excellence:
Module Coordinator for three distinct modules.
- ASPIRE Advisor for 75 students in Chemistry, Forensic Science, and Criminal Justice at the Undergraduate Year 2 level.
- Member of three Design Teams responsible for creating three new degree programs, including one MSc and two BSc degrees.
- Designer of five Modules and engaged in Curriculum Design.
- First Supervisor for eight MSc students and Co-Supervisor for one PhD student.
Reflecting on their time in the UK, Dr. Yalinu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to teach at UWS and their sorrow at leaving British academia, at least temporarily. Although this marks the end of their teaching tenure in the UK, Dr. Yalinu plans to maintain ties through ongoing research and collaborations as a STEM expert.
Dr. Yalinu, who hails from Ialibu in the Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, concluded their message with a heartfelt acknowledgment of the support received during their tenure. While preparing to leave the UK, Dr. Yalinu remains committed to continuing research and collaborations, underscoring their ongoing connection to both the academic community and their roots in Papua New Guinea.
