Solomon Ports is pleased to announce its corporate sponsorship towards the purchase of e-textbooks and digital tools for the MBA Programme which will be launched at Solomon Islands National University (SINU) this year.
Today, Solomon Ports Executive Management team led by the Chief Financial Officer Mr. George Rausi met with SINU’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Transform Aqorau and his team at Kukum Campus, where there were discussions on the support from the port to the University, and potential future partnerships.
The e-learning resources will be sourced from Cengage Asia Pte Ltd, one of the global publishers of business and management books. The digital tools will provide students with access to cutting-edge resources in the field of business and management, helping to prepare them for successful careers in the industry.
Solomon Ports recognizes the importance of investing in education and supporting the development of future leaders in the Solomon Islands. The port is proud to partner with SINU in this initiative, in providing resources that will help to enhance the quality of education in the country.
Speaking during the meeting, SINU’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Transform Aqorau acknowledged the support of the Port, highlighting the significance if the support.
Dr. Aqorau said developing strategic public private sector partnership was important to the future and growth of the University, establishing links between state owned enterprises (SOE’s)
“It is important that the people that we send out to the workforce are fit for a purpose , and if we don’t have the tools , materials and resources, then we’ll have a workforce that is not adequately prepared , that’s the reason why I value the partnerships we have to develop, “ he said.
“I want us to develop a university that has an international reputation, I want the best for our students, and if we could all work together to achieve that, that would be great for the country.”
Meanwhile, SIPA’s CFO Mr. George Rausi said SIPA was glad to support the MBA Programme at SINU and provide students with access to the latest digital tools and e-learning resources.
“We believe that education is essential for the growth and development of our country, and we hope this MBA Programme will help students to improve their innovative thinking which will trickle down to the various organization and companies that they work in,” he said.
