The Ahuora – Centre for Smart Energy Systems and the Department of  Software Engineering are seeking a self-motivated, resilient and professional  team player to contribute to the research objectives of Project Ahuora, funded  under the MBIE SSIF Advanced Energy Technology Platform.

Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to primary contribute in Research Aim 3  (RA3) of Project Ahuora and/or the development of an associated advanced  software platform. RA3 focuses on provisioning local and grid-based  renewable energy with smart “factory-edge” (industrial site and community) energy integration. A secondary contribution to RA1 is also desirable:

  • minimising specific energy demand of the industrial site.
  • The role also includes a reduced teaching load for undergraduate and
  • graduate computing courses to assist the Department of Software
  • Engineering delivering its qualifications.
  • Please note: The University has decided that, from 14 February 2022, all
  • staff working on or entering any of its campuses or sites must be fully
  • vaccinated against COVID-19. You will be required to provide proof of
  • vaccination before 14 February for this role.

We are looking for candidates holding PhDs (or being close to graduating a  PhD) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science,  Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent fields.

Successful candidates are expected to showcase a strong research and  professional portfolio in at least some of the following areas and strong  interest in the rest: (a) Sustainable and Renewable Energy Informatics, (b)  Industrial Digital Twins, (c) Large Software Systems and Mathematical  Modelling, (d) Self-Adaptive Systems.  He aha ngā take me tono mai ai koe? - Why should you apply for this position?

The salary for this position is in the range of $79,337 to $87,794 per year based on qualifications, skills and experience.

This position is fixed term for two years.
